Por la localidad de Stilton, en el centro de Inglaterra, pasaba antiguamente una importante carretera, la Great North Road, que un\u00eda Londres con Escocia.<\/p>\n

La gente que viajaba de norte a sur y viceversa hac\u00eda normalmente una parada en Stilton, casi siempre en la fonda Bell Inn, que aun existe. All\u00ed probaban pan con queso cremoso veteado de azul. A muchos les gustaba tanto que compraban m\u00e1s para el viaje y, de este modo, el queso empez\u00f3 a ser conocido en muchos lugares. Esto sucedi\u00f3 a mediados del s. XVIII.<\/p>\n
